This special commission piece was done for a well loved gentleman known to his surfing peers as "The Captain". Being a lover of the surf himself for many years, coaching surfing and also entertaining children with his "The Captain" a happy yet typical pirate character for birthday parties and events.
I worked in capturing his personality from photos provided to come up with this stylised character of himself.
